It was while watching a soloist perform that I was brought to tears by the power of music. Soon after, I declared that was what I wanted to do with my life and I determined to become the best I could be.

At the age of 12, my violin teacher suggested that I learn the viola as I was searching for those beautiful lower tones that are out of reach of the violin. I caught up quickly, and fell in love with the bigger cousin of the violin.

Soon the viola became a bigger part of my life and I moved up through the QYO orchestras leading sections. On the side, through the inspiration of my high school string teacher, I began learning about Celtic fiddling and have had the privilege of workshopping with some of Australia's best.
